2026 TN Bassmaster Team Trail Eligibility

  This tournament is open only to current B.A.S.S. members who are also current TN B.A.S.S. Nation Club/Team members, recognized by a sanctioned B.A.S.S. Team Trail partner and 16 years of age or older. Teams must consist of two (2) people. Team members are not interchangeable. Teams qualifying for the Bassmaster Team Championship must consist of the same two (2) anglers that began the season as a team, who has participated in one of the TBN Statewide team qualifiers, Top 5 TBN HS Boats from the TBN HS State Open Trail or Team Qualifying Events as listed.  TBN reserves the ability to add events as clubs schedule qualifying events, exceptions in case of an emergency may be granted with permission from the Tournament Director.  However, full-time 2024/25 Bassmaster Elite Series or 2024/25 MLF BPT/Pro Circuit Tour or , employees, officers and directors of B.A.S.S. or its parent, subsidiary and affiliated companies and members of their immediate families (spouse, parents, children, and siblings, regardless of where they live) are ineligible. Any candidate for competition who, in the judgment of the Tournament Director, is disabled in such a manner as to endanger the safety and well-being of his/her partner or themselves shall not be eligible.

$150 per boat, 100% payback


• The lake is OFF LIMITS after 3pm Friday, 

• Launch from Dayton Boat Dock ramp.

• Registration/pre-tournament meeting: beginning at 5:30 PM Eastern. Please at least one angler from each team or the club President needs to attend the meeting 

All participants are encouraged to attend. Boat numbers will be posted at the meeting

• Club captains are responsible for communicating tournament information to members

not in attendance.

• Standings will be posted on www.tennesseebassnation.com 

• Tournament rules are posted on  www.tennesseebassnation.com 

* Landing nets and Umbrella Rigs are permitted. Penetrating cull tags are prohibited.

• Practice good sportsmanship at all times! 

• Tournament hours on will be Safe Daylight to First flight Boats 1-25  3pm, Second Flight Boats 26 - 50 3:15pm, Third Flight Boats 51-75 3:30pm, Fourth Flight 76-100 3:45pm, etc....

• Reverse boat order on Day 2

• Proof of insurance and fishing license may be checked at any time.

• Stay well back from the launch boat/dock; please try to line up

behind each other by number, then with lids open and live well pumps on, idle past

the starter when your boat number is called. Continue idling out past the no wake

buoy.

• PFDs on, kill switch attached at all times big motor is on.

• Licenses and proof of insurance may be checked at any time.

• Off-limits: None

• Check-in with official at the entrance to the Ramp Dock

• Limits: 5 fish LM15/SM18 1 per angler/15 Spotted Bass

• Mobile devices for emergency and non-tournament use only.

• Weigh-in at XXXXXXXXXXX. Scales will open shortly after 3:00 PM.

• You may trailer out before weigh-in.

• Weigh-in 25 boats at a time using TBN weigh bags with mesh inserts. Please follow

boat order.  Weight receipt will be provided.

• No courtesy measure. Fish will be measured by sweep of the tail (no pinching)

• Conservation: please release fish immediately after weighing in; please take photos

on the water. Do not release dead or distressed fish. No culling of dead fish.

Bassmaster Membership $17 (obtained by the angler at https://www.bassmaster.com

Bass Nation Dues $30 – Payable TBN Treasurer or Club Treasurer 

TBN Dues $20 – Payable by the Club treasurer or to Tennessee Bass Nation Treasurer

***ALL Memberships and Dues are required to be paid in full by the first tournament, must be 16 Years of age or older within the competition year and have completed boater safety.

Teams that are not in good standing will not be allowed to compete.

Umbrella Rigs are ALLOWED

Teams/Boat must fish one tournament to qualify for State Team Championship 

Teams/Boat may substitute an angler once, but sub angler must be in good standing with the original club and TBN

Tournament entry fees – $150 per boat

Guaranteed Payout on TOP of entry fee payout $2000 (*to start with may increase depending on sponsorship) First Place $1500 and Top Club $500

Tournament payout breakdown – 100 percent back to the anglers, $10 to Big Fish, $20 to Championship Fund, $120 paid at the ramp, 1 place for every 7 boats 

1-7 Boats pays 1 place, 8-13 pays 2 places, 14-20 pays 3 Places, 21-27 pays 4 Places and so on….

Payout is in addition to any guaranteed payout

Conservation/Volunteer and Soft Plastics Competitions

encourage anglersencourageanglers to Volunteer for Conservation projects. Every year TBN conducts Lake/River Clean up challenges and habitat improvement enhancement programs. Assist TWRA, TWF, TWRF or School Teams with fishing events for youth or communities. Plenty of projects to help with if you can.

Soft Plastics – each year clubs collect used soft plastics, the top 3 clubs with the most weight wins $500, $250, $250 in XXXXXX XXXXXX Gift Cards, dependent upon sponsorship. 

Tournament/Yearly Awards

Top Club - awarded to the top Club by the combined overall points from the entire season, including the State Championship Tournament of the top 3 Boat teams of each Club.

Team of the Year – Solely based upon points from the trail highest points best 3 of 4 tournament plus the two-day State Team Championship (Which is Double Points)

Top Club for Non-Championship Tournaments- awarded to the top club by the combined overall weight of the top 3 Boat teams of each Club.

Qualifying for TBN State Team Championship:

The TBN State Team Championship: Angler must fish one of the four qualifying tournaments.  State Team Championship Lake Select will remain as is rotating West, Central, East…

Path to the National Championship

National Seats formula as of 1 Sept 2025: (Boats are 2 anglers) (Max any Trail is 7 slots) (Rosters validated by Bassmaster. Qualified Boats/Anglers must be BASS Members, Bass Nation Dues “National level” Paid and have paid TBN Dues in order to participate and at the time of Validation. The $500 entry for the National Championship will be reimbursed to the teams by TBN. The first seat to the National Championship will be the Winners of the Championship Tournament, Second will be Points Champ (Team of the Year), than by points.

Points Formula

A. Points start at 200 for first place

B. After 150 places or the first “0” fish every team that participates gets 50 points

C. In the event of a tie: (two teams ties for 5thplace, both teams receive equal points (196/196) and next place receives 194 points….

D. Best 3 of 4 plus Championship

E. Two Day Event – points start at 400 and drop 2 points per position of finish…
